“Fever” 1st March 2019.
“Fever” is a brand new show devised specifically for the Café Culture Series audience. Rebecca Barnard, Brooke Russell, Monique di Mattina and Jacqueline Tonks belt out harmony versions of an exquisite choice of songs ranging from jazz, rock, blues and folk. These talented dynamic singers are accompanied by a talent backed band.
“The New Hip” 3rd May 2019.
It’s comedy! Stephen Blackburn (Choir of Hard Knocks, TV Fast Forward & Australia You’re Standing In It,) and his trio will present his very witty original songs aimed at modern absurdities, pretence and frustrations in a dizzying array of musical styles. His engaging patter from the piano takes the audience through unexpected moments of genuine poignancy spiked with belly laughs.
“Canyon” 30th August 2019
Acoustic driven, silken harmony fuelled band interpreting America’s rich West to East coast tradition. American Alt Country meets Folk and West Coast harmony! ” Dr Hernandez” 22nd November 2019.
Dr Hernández play an exotic tonic of rootsy electro-cumbia, soulful boogaloo and funky reggae. Bringing a new twist to these traditions, the band combines electronic beats & Hammond-infused grooves with a three-piece horn section, percussion and Sally Ford’s soaring Spanish vocals. This is music for dancing, listening or just lounging. Guaranteed to be good for whatever ails you.
